Tierra Mai Burke
I am an actor and creative from Bowie, Maryland. I fell in love with theatre at Duke Ellington School of the Arts and trained for two years at The Theatre School at Depaul University.
I was captivated by the collaborative, party vibes of the art scene in Chicago. To be surrounded by young, lively, unapologetic artists of color; It was a bold celebration of community voices without the fear of sacrificing personality or professionalism.
I brought that inspiration back home to connect passionate , local artists in a monthly Speakeasy; Open Mic, by Droom Theatre Company.
I am beyond grateful to have been raised and highly influenced by the revolutionary artistic history of the DMV. I strive to continue to nurture the creative legacy of our community.
"You weren't going to the theater to change the world, but you had a chance to affect the world, the thinking and the feelings of the world."
-James Earl Jones
